Dress Mommy Outfit Challenge – Day 2

Dress Mommy Outfit Challenge – Day 2
20150317_052410 Day Two

Bethany’s Experience of Day Two:
I was worried about this day. I didn’t get home from work until nearly 11 p.m. last night so long past the girls’ bedtimes. That meant this morning was going to be crazy — even worse than usual — but luckily (not so much) my older daughter was ill this morning. So we had more time to work on this than I thought we would.
.
Lola, the 6-year-old, insisted it was a dress day. I displayed about four or five different options but she zeroed in on this one right away, again because it’s twirly.
.
Meanwhile, Millie, the younger daughter, who is very much Frozen-obsessed, immediately grabbed hold of the crocheted cape thing, which she believes looks like Elsa’s cape from the movie. (I wonder if I should dye it blue?)
.
They then chose the shoes, and after laying out all of the tall boots, they zeroed in on these, an older pair that I actually really like, but tend not to wear often because of their very thin, pointy heels. (I’m kind of a klutz, so I try not to invite disaster too frequently.)
.
20150317_052526 EarringFor tights, they vacillated a bit between two pairs — one gray and one brown — but the gray, which I am wearing, have a very understated sparkle to them (which I’m sure doesn’t show in the photo), so those were their preferred choice.
.
The younger daughter chose the heart locket immediately and complemented that with the brown bracelet.
.
The older daughter picked out the very sparkly and (faux) pearl earrings.
.
All in all, again, it’s not terrible. I do love this dress and I like the cape thing, though I’m not sure I’d have ever put them together on my own. And I don’t mind the boots with this too much, as they at least match the cape. I would, myself, pass on the earrings and probably choose a different necklace, but neither is a terrible choice.
.
As far as Day 2 goes, I think it was quite fine. The girls are really enjoying it and the younger one is getting more excited about choosing things.
.
New Predictions?
I saw the dress that Lola is eyeing for tomorrow. I don’t know if she’ll find something else between now and then, but if she doesn’t I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a lot more colorful…
.
Abby’s Experience of Day Two:
Last night I mentioned to Audrey that we needed to go pick out mommy’s outfit before bed. She sprinted to my closet with enthusiasm! It was so cute.
.
She immediately pulled out the black blouse with white butterflies (the runner-up from the day before). She then bolted to the jewelry. This took a bit longer. She found a long chain necklace with mixed metals but then decided it was too long, same went for the green beaded one. She grabbed every other necklace hanging and asked “Do you yike (like) this one mommy?” I kept reassuring her that it was her choice. Finally she decided on the coral colored floral necklace. (I knew this one would show up this week).
.
I laid out more pants this time, almost all of the ‘professional’ pants that I own ranging from hot pink, aztec print, brown, navy, etc. She quickly pointed to the black pants…which surprised me…but hey I wasn’t about to argue with that.
.
She asked me to put it all on but I told her I need a tank top first, she chose a thin, worn, loose, white and tan zebra printed tank to go under…ummm…gulp…ok.
.
20150317_052531 braceletsI put it all on. She decided that the black and white butterfly shirt had to go. She looked in the closet again and picked out this black polka dotted button up (which is funny because it looks very similar to the butterfly shirt)  She topped off the outfit with two thin purple beaded bracelets on each wrist.
.
As I put this outfit back on this morning I was amazed at how comfortable it was. I think it might be the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever worn to work. I also think that its pretty tasteful. I might wear it again.
.
Predictions for Tomorrow:
I have no idea what to expect. I think her strategy is matching. To Audrey, a black shirt goes with black pants. So, I’m really curious to see what tomorrow brings. I think the pink skinny jeans are coming up eventually (maybe its just me that wants to choose them)
