The bees are buzzing. The birds are singing. The sun is finally shining in Bemidji. Time to shed our wool layers and find our summer style again. Each year trends come and go but it seems like the 1960s never fully leaves us.
Maybe it’s Bemidji’s beautiful landscape that inspires earthy colors, our rich art community, or maybe we are all just a little bit “hippie” inside. The inMagazine team stopped into local downtown businesses to find some common trends with this look. So if you are the ultimate free spirit, use them all or start slow and incorporate one trend into a typical outfit.
With fringe, anything goes
Find fringed pants, shirts, purses or sandals for your 60’s staple.
Only because they look cool or to hold the flower in your hair.
The earthier the better and mixed metals are a nice touch.
Any floral patterned dress, skirt or top
Make sure the shape is forgiving and flowy.
Because seeing should be stylish, too.
Whether they’re jeans or printed yoga pants, what could be more comfortable than a flare?
Add a pop of color to your look.
